Rev. Pastor Charles Azure

Founder & Lead Pastor

Called From the Beginning

Born 11th June 1980 · Sumburgu, Azorebiye

Rev. Pastor Charles Azure was born on 11th June 1980 in Sumburgu, Azorebiye, the first child of his mother. His father, the then-reigning chief, was one of the most chronic idol worshippers in the area. Yet from within that very household, the son could not follow the pattern set by his father — a different path, and a different calling, awaited him.

Long before he understood what it meant, God was already speaking to him. As a boy, not yet thirteen years old, he experienced vivid, recurring visions in his sleep — seeing himself seated among crowds of people, deep in discussion, and at times preaching to travellers on a bus. In these dreams he was never a spectator; he was always in the middle of the people, ministering to them.

Around that same season, one of his brothers frequently invited him to church, but each time the invitation was turned down. God, however, does not give up on those He has called. The turning point came when he travelled to Kumasi, where God "arrested" him in an encounter so real and undeniable that it changed the course of his life. It was there he developed the habit of regular church attendance, and the seed planted in his childhood visions grew into conviction.

From Call to Covenant

1980

Born in Sumburgu

Born on 11th June 1980 as the first child of his mother, into a home where his father worshipped idols. From the beginning, God set him apart.

Arrested by God

While in Kumasi, God encountered him in a way he could not deny. He began attending church regularly, and the seed of his childhood visions grew into conviction.

1996

The Call of God

Joined Fountain Gate (then "Broken Yoke") in Bolgatanga. Was baptized and received the call of God upon his life, later serving under Pastor Oliver in Takoradi.

2010

First Fellowship

Started a fellowship at VAC Hall in Bolgatanga, moved to Awugewa JHS, then to Bukeri Nursery School — building the foundation through years of trial.

Feb 2013

A Permanent Home

Relocated to Zaare-Azua, where the ministry acquired its own land. Through disputes and setbacks, the present site of Newlife International Ministry was secured.

A Ministry of Healing & Miracles

Throughout his years of ministry, the founder has walked in a strong healing and deliverance anointing.

Rev. Pastor Charles Azure ministering

He has prayed for the blind to receive their sight and has ministered healing over a wide range of sicknesses and diseases. He has also stood in prayer with countless people believing God for breakthrough, so that they would prosper and do well in every area of their lives — spiritually, physically, and materially.

These testimonies of God's power form a central part of the story of Newlife International Ministry and continue to inspire the faith of the congregation today.

Trials for the Sake of the Gospel

Faithfulness to God's calling did not come without cost. At Awugewa he was dismissed simply for doing the work of God, and on one occasion he endured stoning — an experience reminiscent of the persecution Christ warned His followers to expect. At the VAC Hall, the fellowship could not sustain the rent; at Bukeri Nursery School, he was again asked to leave. Each setback only strengthened his resolve to continue building what God had started.
